Tubod, Lanao del Norte – The Provincial Grains Processing Center (PGPC) operated by the provincial government of Lanao del Norte recently launched its newest rice equipment and services for local farmers in this progressive province.
The formal launching ceremony was held on May 7, 2015 at the PGPC Compound, San Vicente Road, in Kapatagan town.
The new equipment obtained by the Lanao del Norte LGU include mist polisher and rice grader. Said equipment are expected to further improve the quality of rice produced by farmers especially those in the Kapatagan Valley.
Among those who attended the launching ceremony include Board member Casimero Bagol (Committee on Agriculture), Vice-Governor Ma. Cristina Atay, municipal agriculturists from Tubod, Baroy, Lala, and Salvador, PRMC Head Gemma Harun, PGPC Manager Engr. Jalandoni Piti-ilan, department heads and employees of the provincial government.
PGPC also provides regular rice processing services like drying of rice grains, milling, as well as rental of mini dump truck and selling of rice bran or hull.
Standard fee for drying is pegged at at P3 or P5 per sack; milling with mist polisher and rice grader is set at P105 per sack for 50kg and P55 per sack for 25kg, drying without the mist polisher and rice grader costs P100 per sack for 50 kg, and P50 per sack for 25kg.
Rent fee for mini dump truck with maximum capacity of 3.5 MT or 60 cavans is at P2,000/day exclusive of fuel and oil. For the Isuzu Forward with maximum loading capacity of 10MT or 220 cavans, rental is pegged at P4,000/day exclusive of fuel and oil.
