Provincial employees are examined by medical staff from the Provincial Health Office during the screening process for the 10-day weight loss challenge.
Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Employees of Lanao del Norte LGU eagerly joined the 10-day weight loss challenge organized by the provincial government through its Provincial Health Office (PHO).
The activity is one of the highlights for the nutrition month celebration held every July nationwide.
“We want to promote healthly active lifestyle among employees of the provincial government. Through this challenge, the participants are guided on how to reach their ideal weight throught proper diet and exercise”, explained Provincial Health Officer Jamaica Dimaporo.
Participants undergo a comprehensive physical examination to evaluate their health status and Body Mass Index (BMI). A 10-day diet plan and exercise routine are then drawn up by Doctors from PHO.
BMI is a relationship between weight and height of a person. It is commonly associated with body fat and health risks. Research shows that both high and low BMI values indicate greater health risks.
After the 10-day period, all participants will again be examined and weigh-in to determine the winner of the challenge.
