On November 13, 2017, the Provincial Information Office leads this week’s convocation of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte. It provides updates of the activities and programs of the Provincial Governor to all provincial employees and especially the departments which handle the frontline services of the Provincial Government held in front of the Gov. Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center.
During the convocation the PIO test the employees by throwing 10 questions with regards to the recent activities of Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo. All of these questions were based on the posted articles in the official website and official facebook page of the Province of Lanao del Norte. Employees who have answered correctly received a token from the office in the form of a coffee mug.
The subject of the convocation is in line with Gov. Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo’s memorandum released on October 23, 2017. The memo touches on the matter of media coverage for all activities of the provincial government. As well informing the departments to prepare an indicative monthly calendar of key activities, functions and events and submit it to the PIO a week prior to the subsequent month.
The PIO will then proactively confirm the final dates and come up with a prioritized and harmonized schedule to prepare and cover the said activities for the governor’s approval. Furthermore, the PIO will do its best in its present capacity to upload and share pictures along with correct captions and reliable information of the said activity in the quickest time possible.
PIO head Lyndon G. Calica gave an inspiring message from the book “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff” by Richard Carlson. Mr. Calica humbly asked Ms. Brigida S. Tañgonan for additional 5 minutes to share inspiring words from the book. One of the lines read, “Surely there are times when other people and/or contribute to our problems, but it is we who must rise to the occasion and take responsibility for our own happiness. Circumstance don’t make a person, they reveal him or her.”
Mr. Calica appeals to all department heads to continue and strengthen the cooperation, collaboration and coordination with regards to the programs and projects of the Provincial Government. “Let us continue to work together by constantly communicating with each other and establish reliable relationship with one another like a family.”
Before the end of the program, the Provincial Information Officer reaches out to the provincial government employees to make time in reading the articles posted in the website and facebook page and share it after clicking the Like button. “In our own little way we could help disseminate information to friends not from here of how our leaders have work hard to sustain the peace and development of the Province of Lanao del Norte, The Land of Beauty and Bounty,” added Mr. Calica.
