PGO-CAD Energizes Monday’s Convocation, Governor IQD Vows Support of Anti-VAW Campaign.

Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo pledged support for a VAW Free Philippines along with the PGLDN Employees during the convocation led by the Provincial Governor’s Office-Community Affairs Division (PGO-CAD) at Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center on Monday, December 4, 2017.

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte joins the National Observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) that started last November 25 and will culminate on December 12, 2017. Governor Angging marked her hand on the tarpaulin with a white paint to signify her all out backing of the movement. The Provincial Population Office headed by Ms. Ananette B. Daniel has said that today is the 10th day of the 18 day observance of VAW Free Philippines.

Department heads of the provincial government together with the employees as well hand painted their willingness to help end the abuse and violence towards women and children in their respective communities.

Before indicating the individual support, Ms. Daniel read a letter of commitment for both men and women. For the perspective of a girl or a woman: “I know my rights and I will not allow anyone to violate these. I won’t allow myself to become a victim of violence and I know what to do, where to go, and whom to go to in case it happens.” For the perspective of a man: “I respect women and girls and I won’t be an instrument in committing violence against women and children. I will be a positive influence to other men and boys in building a community that is respectful of everyone’s right to be free from abuse and violence.” And, for the perspective of a government agency: “We are staunch advocates of Anti-VAWC. We will continue to provide and improve our services for our clients so that they can live a life that is free from VAW.”

Monday’s convocation started with a prayer for both Muslim and Christian employees followed by the National Anthem and oath of allegiance to the National flag then the singing of the Provincial Hymn. The morning exercise was led by Fabio Tongson, where they dance to the tune of “Can’t Stop the Feeling” the famous sound track of the hit animated movie “TROLLS”. Then the employees gladly and joyfully sang when asked by Lorinel “Dodong” Villondo of the PGLDN Band to sing along with well known Bisayan Christmas song “Kasadya ning Taknaan”. PIO-LDN
