PGLDN supports Brigada Eskwela 2017

The Department of Education launched the BRIGADA ESKWELA 2017 in all public schools across the country early Monday of May 15, 2017. This is an annual event of the department which encourage teachers, parents, students and community members to help prepare the classrooms by constructing, painting, cleaning and other preparations that will make the school conducive to learning and safe to all students before the school year starts on June 5, 2017.

In Lanao del Norte, BRIGADA ESKWELA  2017 is in full swing, the Provincial Government provided materials to public schools, like paints, paint brush, paint roller just to name a few of the things needed for the school’s improvement.

The Province of Lanao del Norte has never run out of people volunteering for this significant activity. Activities such as this regenerate the spirit of volunteerism among the people of the province. Student’s safety and school readiness drives these teachers, parents and community members to join this Bayanihan activity; this is in accordance with this year’s theme, “Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Ligtas at Handa na Paaralan”.

Last year Lala National High School brought prestige to the province by grabbing the Championship Award for Region 10 in the 2nd Division Level Awarding Ceremony of 2016 Brigada Eskwela as one of the BEST IMPLEMETING SCHOOLS of the country and this year faculties are hoping that they will be recognized once again.

Ms. Vilma V. Mangubat, Head of the English Department said, “Lala National High School also extends its support to Gov. Angging Quibranza-Dimaporo had it not of her strong support to Lala National High School probably we would never come up with that award”.

Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo continuously supports the yearly Brigada Eskwela Program of the Department of Education through the Provincial Governor’s Office–Community Affairs Division. The Governor designated a number of provincial government vehicles to deliver paints and brushes and other materials throughout the schools of the province.

The annual Brigada Eskwela brought camaraderie among volunteers in serving the common purpose of providing safe, clean, healthy environment that is favourable to students and teachers and giving peace of mind to parents in trusting their children to the learning institution.

Aligned with the preparations, teachers across the country will also undergo series of trainings on disaster preparedness as part of the program. Classrooms, school buildings and other structures will be examined in detail if these can endure earthquakes or disasters. The Provincial Government is focusing on the improvements of the school’s surroundings to make certain that it is safe to all. PIO-LDN
