PGLDN Joins the Celebration of the 117th Civil Service Month.

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte shows malasakit during the celebration of the 117th Civil Service Month in September. This year’s theme manifested in the actions of the employees “Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayani,” Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo spearheaded the activities of the Provincial Government organized by the Provincial Human Resource Management & Development Office (PHRMDO).

The PHRMDO with the help of the Philippine Red Cross of Lanao del Norte Chapter kicked off the Civil Service Month by initiating a Bloodletting program at the Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center lobby last September 4, 2017. A total of 7,200 ml of blood were donated by the provincial government employees in the hopes that it can save lives to those who are in need of additional blood admitted in the Provincial Hospitals.

Governor Angging created the slogan “Lanao del Norte: Hulagway sa Himsug nga Katawhan ug Malinawong Katilingban” during the 58th Araw ng Lanao del Norte. Governor emphasized the campaign in eliminating malnutrition in the province by reviving the Training Courses for Barangay Nutrition Scholars last September 13-15, 2017. The resumption of the Barangay Nutrition Scholars will help identify the children who are malnourished, regularly monitoring them, and referring them to appropriate service providers.

The PHRMDO also held a workshop on the Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) last September 7-8 and 12-13, 2017 which refreshes the provincial employees and its offices that are providing the front-line services of the Provincial Government to ensure the delivery of quality services to the constituents of Lanao del Norte.

One of the highlights in the month long celebration of the Civil Service Month was the opening of the annual Inter-Colour Sports Fest competition held in Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium on September 15, 2017. On this day, a motorcade was organized to formally start the day’s event before the Search for Mr. & Ms. Sportsfest 2017 took place inside the gymnasium. The couple from the White Team won the title. In the afternoon, the much awaited Mass Dance Competition representing the different colours under the Provincial Government performed their practiced routines in front of the distinguished guests and leaders of the Province. The Red Hot dancers awed the judges with their synchronized dance moves that made them the Champion.

The Larong Pinoy also commenced last September 29, 2017, where in the game of Palosebo, the Yellow Team beat the rest of the colours. And, in the game of Karang, the Orange Team won the men’s category while for the female category was grabbed by the Gold Team.

On October 2, 2017, The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte culminates the Civil Service Month by visiting the Home for the Aged. This was organized by the Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office headed by Mrs. Eugenie P. Pusing.

In addition, the Provincial Population Office conducts Gender Sensitivity Training to employees of the provincial government to help strengthen the campaign and address the aforementioned issue. Gender Sensitivity tries to ensure that people rely less on assumptions about traditional and outdated views on the roles of men and women. This training will be done in two batches; 1st batch will be on October 3-4, and the 2nd batch is scheduled on October 5-6, 2017. An estimated of more than 70 employees of the provincial government will participate in this event.

The celebration of the 117th Civil Service Month was strongly supported by Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo together with the Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Chaired by Vice-Governor Maria Cristina N. Atay. PIO-LDN
