PGLDN, CDA Conduct Trainings in Support of the Local Cooperatives of Lanao del Norte

PGLDN, CDA Conduct Trainings in Support of the Local Cooperatives of Lanao del Norte .

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the Provincial Cooperative Office partners with the Office of the President-Cooperative Development Authority in organizing a two day training on Fundamentals of Cooperative and Governance and Management of Cooperative at Macapagal Training Center Hall in Pigcarangan, Tubod on October 10-11, 2017 in line with the celebration of the Cooperative Month.

71 Officers representing various micro-cooperatives in the province participated in the training. The theme of the Cooperative Month is, “Cooperatives Empowering the Poor and the Vulnerable Towards Job Creation and Poverty Eradication.”

Mr. Alvin Castro, CDS II-CDA Lanao del Norte, welcomed all the participants and gave an overview of the activities and subjects that will be discuss during the course of the training. Mr. Vicente Secuya III introduced all the 25 participants from the Micro-cooperatives to the three representatives of the Cooperative Development Authority-Region 10: Mr. Edwin Delosas, Cooperative Research & Information Training Officer-in-Charge; Mr. Joselito Hallazgo, Certified Public Accountant-Supervision and Examination Section and Ms. Marilou Carumba, Certified Public Accountant-Cooperative Projects Development Assistance Section Chief.

According to Mr. Edwin Delosas, this two-day seminar is composed of two courses that will be presented one day at a time. Regularly each course costs P10,000 and each cooperative will have to spend P20,000 to complete the two day training. The micro-cooperatives in Lanao del Norte are privileged enough to be part of this training for free through the effort of the Provincial Government in support to its local micro-cooperatives.

The first day of the training will focus on the Fundamentals of the Cooperatives course, where it tackles on what cooperatives can offer to the society and to its members. On the second day, participants are expected to learn the exact method in maintaining their cooperative to keep it active and constantly moving by introducing to them Governance and Management course.

Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza Dimaporo together with the 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo and 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah “Bobby” Dimakuta Dimaporo continuously encourage and urge members of the community to assemble and organize association to establish a legitimate cooperative that could help sustain their social, economic and cultural needs.

The Provincial Cooperative Office is at all times ready and willing to assist potential association of persons that would like to become valid cooperative and registered member of the Cooperative Development Authority. PIO-LDN
