PGLDN and its 16 Municipalities Passed DILG’s Good Financial Housekeeping

PGLDN and its 16 Municipalities Passed DILG’s Good Financial Housekeeping.

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte is glad to have passed the 2017 Good Financial Housekeeping together with its 16 Municipalities given on October 6, 2017. 90% of the total number Municipalities in Lanao del Norte after being assessed and verified by the evaluators from DILG, these municipalities are believed to be capable in handling its financial administration. This recognition is one of the components of the Department of Interior and Local Government’s Seal of Good Local Governance which is sought after all LGU’s of the country.

An LGU can only receive the GFH if it exhibits strict compliance with accounting and auditing standards, rules and regulations, i.e., with an Unqualified or Qualified COA Opinion of the immediately preceding year; as well as Compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy of Local Budget and Finances, Bids and Public Offerings e.g., Annual Budget, Statement of Receipts and Expenditures, Annual Procurement Plan or Procurement List, and Bid Results On Civil Works. Goods and Services and Consulting Services, among others all this according to DILG Memorandum Circular No.: 2014- 39.

The 16 municipalities that displayed great financial administration and carried Lanao del Norte in achieving Good Financial Housekeeping were Bacolod, Balo-i, Baroy, Kapatagan, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Kauswagan, Kolambugan, Lala, Linamon, Magsaysay, Matungao, Nunungan, Pantao-Ragat, Sapad, Tangcal and Tubod.

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte also won the Gawad KALASAG Award last August 10, 2017 and with the Good Financial Housekeeping Award the PGLDN is now a step closer in achieving the Seal of Good Local Governance that can further develop Lanao del Norte through its Performance Challenge Fund given by the DILG upon winning the SGLG.
