PCO Features Bacolod’s Queensland Herbs and Tourism Farm

July 10, 2017-The Provincial Cooperative Office hosted on Monday the flag raising ceremony at Gov. Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center in which the office featured Queensland Herbs and Tourism Farm. The office supports local businesses in Lanao del Norte for product development by providing technical assistance and trainings. With the support of PCO, Queensland Farm is now one of the most active herb sellers in the province and frequently participates in various trade fairs such as the SM Organic Trade Fair, JCI Trade Fair in Iligan and recently the Agri-Aqua, Livestock & OTOP Trade Fair in celebration of the 58th Araw ng Lanao del Norte held at Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex. Through these various trade fairs held outside the province, Queensland Farm helps promote the bounty of Lanao del Norte.

PCO assist to enhance the viability of any cooperative as an economic enterprise in the province. It initiates programs such as Livelihood/Enterprise Development Program, Cooperative Officers’ Training Interventions as Accredited Training Provider, Enterprise Development/Enhancement Trainings, Establish linkages between NGAs/NGOs and Cooperatives and Cooperative Advocacy Forum.

PCO Acting Head, Minda V. Regis is hoping that the resolution they have submitted be approve by the Provincial Administration. The resolution cites that every municipality in the province should have a municipal cooperative office to further assist the cooperatives in the area and help augment the number of personnel in the capitol.

Employees of the Provincial Capitol tried the best seller Blue Ternate mint iced tea. Queensland farm also treated the employees with free taste of their hot apple mint tea mixed with various herbs like Tarragon and Stevia; which work as a natural sweetener. Stevia has sterols (natural steroids found in plants, animals and fungi) and furthermore it prevents pancreatic cancer because of its antioxidant compounds.

Queenie A. Rosario the owner from the Municipality of Bacolod where Queensland Herbs and Tourism Farm is located expressed her gratitude to the employees of the provincial government for the time extended to her, to the Provincial Cooperative Office led by Minda V. Regis for the opportunity given to present her business and a chance to encourage the people to practice healthy living by introducing the benefits of the different herbs.

Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo, 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza-Dimaporo and 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah “Bobby” Dimakuta Dimaporo relentlessly encourage residents of Lanao del Norte to organize a cooperative for sustainable livelihood. Small business entrepreneurs like the Queensland Herbs and Tourism Farm is always in partnership with the Provincial Government through the Provincial Cooperative Office in endorsing their products which could help increase the economy of the province of Lanao del Norte, “The Land of Beauty and Bounty”.
