More than 3,000 runners join Derek Ramsay’s Run-for-a-Cause

Movie actor and TV personality Derek Ramsay speaks to the more than 3,000 participants who joined in his Run-for-a-Cause at Tubod, Lanao del Norte. Beside him is his sister Natala Catherine Ramsay-Bontilao.

Tubod, Lanao del Norte – More than 3,000 runners from all over this province participated in the latest fun run hosted by the provincial government and Bontilao Montessori Academy of Lala municipality.

The Fun Run dubbed as “Run and Dance with Derek Ramsay” was held on October 15, 2015 at the sprawling MCC sports complex, Brgy. Sagadan, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
The event is a fund-raising activity to help build the first orphanage in the province that will provide children whose biological parents are deceased or unwilling to care for them with the needed guidance, housing and education.
“Whenever I visit Lanao del Norte, I always feel loved and very much welcome. This is my simple way of saying ‘thank you’ to the beautiful people of Lanao del Norte, the place I consider as my second home”, said TV heartthrob Derek Ramsay.
As support to this vital project, Governor Khalid Dimaporo registered 2,000 of Lanao del Norte’s Provincial Volunteer Health Workers (PVHW) to join the activity.
“I am thankful to the entire Ramsay family as well as the Bontilao family for their tireless dedication in helping elevate the lives of the people here in Lanao del Norte”, expressed Governor Dimaporo.
Spearheading the event are officers of the Bontilao Montessori Academy Parents-Teacher Association (PTA) and Derek’s sister Natala Catherine Ramsay-Bontilao.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Governor Dimaporo for his immediate response to our invitation to this fund-raising event, without hesitation he instantly committed 2,000 of his PVHW’s to join this run. Thank you Governor Khalid”, said Natala Bontilao.
This is the second Fun Run that the provincial government of this fast-rising province has organized for year 2015.
On November 2015, the Lanao del Norte LGU is once again poised to host another exciting Triathlon race in its capital town. And on December, it will host again the highly-anticipated Lanao del Norte International Motocross Invitationals. VNL/PIO-LDN
