Governor Dimaporo orders manhunt operation against escaped inmates

Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Governor Khalid Dimaporo directed members of the Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office (PPO) to conduct manhunt operation against the eight inmates who escaped from the Provincial Jail in the early hours of September 2, 2015.

 
The inmates were able to cut through the steel bars of their cell using an improvised steel saw.
 
Among the convicts who escaped were Samsodin Mamao, Musakira Tomanto, Walid Mandagla, Anowar Locsadato, Amoran Dasimbor, Bawi Mapandi, Caris Lando, and Bokong Santos.
 
A composite team of police personnel from PNP-Tubod, PNP-Magsaysay, provincial jail guards and members of the Philippine Army are conducting manhunt operation against the escaped inmates to bring them back to custody.
 
On September 4, the composite team successfully apprehended Bawi Mapandi in Brgy. Lower Caningag, Magsaysay town after conducting hot pursuit operation triggered by a tip from local residents. 
 
The provincial government in cooperation with police authorities are also using traditional and backdoor channels to help convince the fugitives to peacefully surrender. VNL/PIO-LDN
