Secretary Villar a friend of Governor Angging listened to the request with regards to the junction of the Municipality of Tubod and the National Highway linking Iligan City to Zamboanga Peninsula. This crossing is hampering the flow of traffic when heavy rain comes. The Governor appealed to Secretary Villar to allocate and approve the construction of the drainage system for the said junction. In regards to taking care of the environment, Governor Angging calls the students to act with concern and responsibility for their generation and the next to enjoy the beauty and learn the importance of nature to humanity. Students should not only practice waste segregation inside the school campus but also in to their homes. Proper segregation of garbage is done by labelling the rubbish bins with Degradable, Non-degradable and Recyclable. Through this it will be easy for us to identify to which bin to throw our garbage.
Governor Angging also emphasized the importance of communication in the family. Children should initiate the move to talk to their parents, especially when in the dinner table gadgets like mobile phones and other modern devices should be discourage while having dinner. Communication makes the relationship strong and could help bridge the gap between the two generations.
Today’s generations plays a vital role in the preservation of our environment. If we will not do anything to protect our mother earth, it is us who will suffer the consequence. Natural or manmade calamities could happen without notice, cite the Governor. Climate change is real. We could no longer predict the weather. On March 9, 2017, Lanao del Norte suffered the effect of climate change. Some barangays of the province were flooded due to the heavy downpour of rain. Flood displaced families in some low lying areas and landslide paralyzed the flow of vehicular traffic. These are samples of the effect of not taking care of our environment.
Furthermore, Governor Angging reminded the students and residents of Barangay Pualas to stay away from suspicious men who are enticing the people to join the terrorist group by offering cash. “You (students and residents) must be vigilant at all times, report to Chairman Lozano or to any members of the barangay council if you see men that are not from your place”, said the Governor. Governor Angging vowed not to allow any terrorist group to thrive in the peaceful province of Lanao del Norte.
