Tubod, Lanao del Norte – After a protracted canvassing of votes by the Provincial Board of Canvassers caused by a defective Consolidation and Canvassing System (CCS) laptop of Comelec, winners for provincial and congressional posts in the latest poll were finally declared on May 13 at the Sanggunian Panlalawigan session hall, in Provincial Capitol Building, Brgy. Pigcarangan, Tubod, this province.
According to Comelec, the delay was caused by a defective CCS laptop that was unable to receive the electronically transmitted results of the municipal canvass.
“Despite the delay we are very happy that we were finally declared as winners in this election. The landslide victory that our constituents gave to the members of Team Quibranza-Dimaporo is a clear directive for us to continue with our goal of bringing meaningful development here in Lanao del Norte through unity and lasting peace between our Muslim and Christian brothers”, expressed 2nd District Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo.
All winners belong to Team Quibranza-Dimaporo of the Liberal Party who sweep all positions in the provincial and congressional level of the province.
Winning candidates for Lanao del Norte’s 1st and 2nd Congressional Districts are Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo and Abdullah Dimaporo respectively.
Winners in the provincial level include Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo as incoming Govenor with 141,492 votes, while incumbent Vice-Governor Cristy Atay was successful with her reelection bid with 121,997 votes. While winning candidates for the 1st District provincial board member position are Matalines, Grecille (48,295 votes), Mac Dibaratun (42,952 votes), Jackmar Maruhom (36,498 votes), Reinario Bihag (35,794 votes), and Marivic Ramos (32,521 votes). In the 2nd District, winners include Cesar Yap Jr. (62,331 votes), Superman Usop (56,738 votes), Harris Ali (54,551 votes), Tawantawan Cauntongan (53,368 votes), and Ronda Maruhom (52,341 votes).
