Congressman Bobby Continues Study & Work Program

The Office of the 2nd Congressional District of Lanao de Norte initiates, “Your Gateway to Japan,” an innovative idea of Congressman Abdullah “Bobby” Dimakuta Dimaporo that is within the framework of the Inclusive Growth Plan of the Quibranza-Dimaporo Initiative to help uplift the lives of qualified individuals by availing the Study & Work Program for free in partnership with the Philippine-Nippon Technical College held at Macapagal Training Center in Pigcarangan, Tubod on November 14, 2017.

Congressman Bobby has always been creating projects and programs for the residents of the province who has the potential to excel with the attitude to persevere in making their lives economically secure. These individuals are carefully selected by the staff of the 2nd District Congressman and will undergo rigorous evaluation process by employees representing the Philippine Nippon Technical College.

The PNTC is the entity that will teach the Nihongo Language Proficiency and Skills Training to individuals who passed the screening stage, in which it offers a STUDY-NOW-PAY-LATER scheme for qualified students. The only thing that the trainee will shoulder is their food and everything else is free. Residents of Lanao del Norte are given top priority to avail in this program. During the evaluation, the institution prefers applicants who already have skills that only needs enhancement. For male applicants; if High School or Vocational graduate it must be within the range of 19-26 years old and 19-29 years old if College graduate. While for female; the applicant must have graduated at least a 4 year course. The PNTC adheres to NO Tattoo policy of the host country.

During the evaluation, the applicants took series of qualifying exams such as Physical & Mental Test, IQ Test, Interview, Abstract and Eye Examination. The applicants were also required to bring with them authenticated NSO/PSA copy of their birth certificates; applicants with late registered birth certificates were not accepted.

The Language Proficiency Training will be held in Davao City for 4 months, and the Skills Enhancement Training will be in Laguna Campus for almost 8 months. The duration of the entire program will take a year to complete.

After finishing the training, applicants will fly to Japan as interns, where they will work and study for 3 years as agreed in the contract. After the term, the applicants are given the chance to continue for another 2 years upon the request of the company where they had their internship.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industry, Nissan Motors and Hitachi Rail System Company are just few of the companies that accept interns from PNTC.

As of now out of 75 applicants there were only 15 who initially qualified and 10 were considered conditional, subject for review. Next schedule of orientation will be posted on the official facebook page of the Province of Lanao del Norte.

Gov. IQD Visits Displaced Families in Barangay Landa, Balo-i

Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo spearheads the Relief Operation in the Municipality of Balo-i as the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte in partnership with Cudal Press to give away donations to Internally Displaced Families in the evacuation center situated in Barangay Landa (Gadongan) on November 10, 2017. The ever mindful Governor is always ready to provide assistance to the victims of rebellion in Marawi City caused by the local terrorist group.

Governor Angging received a warm welcome from Hadji Ali P. Cotongan, Chairman of Barangay Landa (Gadongan). The Governor immediately reached out to the evacuees inside the shelter the moment she arrives and personally handover the relief packs with the assistance of the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office.

Cudal Press is a commercial printer found in Sayre Highway in Malaybalay City in the Province of Bukidnon. The pack of goods will help ease the worries of the displaced families and made them feel that there are groups or individuals who are doing little things for them.

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte is continuously accepting partners from the Non-Government Sectors, Private Companies or individuals and agencies from the National Government such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Health.

A total of 157 relief goods were given which contains Pineapple, Blanket, Bananas, Packs of Biscuits, Children’s clothes (Shorts and T-shirts) as well as Shoes. These goods were equally distributed amongst the evacuees.

On November 9, 2017 during the Provincial Peace and Order Council Meeting, Governor Angging stated in her introduction that the situation in Marawi is not yet over and Lanao del Norte will be helping in rebuilding the only Islamic City of the Country. “The Marawi crisis is not over yet since we will partake in rebuilding the city. We stand together with the victims of this crisis. We will support the efforts of President Duterte in rebuilding Marawi and we will help stabilize the security situation by working seriously with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. In Lanao del Norte, we will do this by constantly monitoring our shared boundaries with Lanao del Sur and remains vigilant for us to prevent terroristic plans within our respective localities.”

The Quibranza-Dimaporo Initiative is also focusing their attention in supporting the IDPs from Lanao del Sur and has pledged to be one with the people of Marawi in rebuilding the shattered city back to on its feet. T

PIO Leads Convocation

On November 13, 2017, the Provincial Information Office leads this week’s convocation of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte. It provides updates of the activities and programs of the Provincial Governor to all provincial employees and especially the departments which handle the frontline services of the Provincial Government held in front of the Gov. Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center.

During the convocation the PIO test the employees by throwing 10 questions with regards to the recent activities of Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo. All of these questions were based on the posted articles in the official website and official facebook page of the Province of Lanao del Norte. Employees who have answered correctly received a token from the office in the form of a coffee mug.

The subject of the convocation is in line with Gov. Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo’s memorandum released on October 23, 2017. The memo touches on the matter of media coverage for all activities of the provincial government. As well informing the departments to prepare an indicative monthly calendar of key activities, functions and events and submit it to the PIO a week prior to the subsequent month.

The PIO will then proactively confirm the final dates and come up with a prioritized and harmonized schedule to prepare and cover the said activities for the governor’s approval. Furthermore, the PIO will do its best in its present capacity to upload and share pictures along with correct captions and reliable information of the said activity in the quickest time possible.

PIO head Lyndon G. Calica gave an inspiring message from the book “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff” by Richard Carlson. Mr. Calica humbly asked Ms. Brigida S. Tañgonan for additional 5 minutes to share inspiring words from the book. One of the lines read, “Surely there are times when other people and/or contribute to our problems, but it is we who must rise to the occasion and take responsibility for our own happiness. Circumstance don’t make a person, they reveal him or her.”

Mr. Calica appeals to all department heads to continue and strengthen the cooperation, collaboration and coordination with regards to the programs and projects of the Provincial Government. “Let us continue to work together by constantly communicating with each other and establish reliable relationship with one another like a family.”

Before the end of the program, the Provincial Information Officer reaches out to the provincial government employees to make time in reading the articles posted in the website and facebook page and share it after clicking the Like button. “In our own little way we could help disseminate information to friends not from here of how our leaders have work hard to sustain the peace and development of the Province of Lanao del Norte, The Land of Beauty and Bounty,” added Mr. Calica. PVO Leads Convocation

Dr. Fritzie P. Provido, head of the Provincial Veterinary Office took the opportunity to inform the colleagues in the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte of the fatal effect of Rabies to humans. Rabies is a viral disease that attacks the brain to cause inflammation. However, this disease can be prevented by regularly vaccinate the pet animals by the office concern. According to Dr. Provido, the recorded effect of Rabies to humans is only three days and the longest period was up to 20 years. The time is dependent on the distance the virus must travel to reach the nervous system.

After a person was bitten by a dog, it should be monitored within fourteen days the condition of the pet to determine if it is carrying the disease or not. If within the period of fourteen days the dog dies the owner should inform the Provincial Veterinary Office in order to decapitate the head of the pet to be examine in the Regional Office to determine if the dog dies due to Rabies or through natural cause.

Dogs or in general, all warm blooded animals are not born with Rabies said Dr. Provido. This rabies is caused by a number of lyssaviruses including the rabies virus and Australian bat lyssavirus. Once within a muscle or nerve cell, the virus goes replication.

Dr. Provido as well reminded the attendees to immediately wash the open wound caused by the dog bite or when saliva enters the open wound with soap and pour betadine on it then cover it with clean cloth or gauze bandage. Never pour vinegar or wipe it with garlic (ahus) as being practiced before.

Pet owners should be responsible enough to bring their pets to the nearest veterinary clinic to be administered with anti-rabies vaccines, added Dr. Provido.

Also on this moment, Ms. Eugenie P. Pusing, head of the Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office, formally introduced the new two additional members of the PGLDN Family. Mr. Rolando D. Catiil, retired Army Colonel as the new Chief of the Provincial Civil Security Unit and Mr. Romeo Maglanque, retired Bureau of Jail Management and Penology as the head of the Provincial Jail Office.

The said convocation was held in-front of the Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center on November 6, 2017.

PGLDN Supports LGU of Tubod in Celebration of People’s Day

The Municipality of Tubod celebrate People’s Day on October 18, 2017 inside the Tubod Cultural Center where Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo requested Dr. Melania P. Untao, Head of the Provincial Health Office to help provide medical and dental aid to the residents of the municipality.

Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Maria Filipina Cabrera Camins lead the medical and dental mission together with her staff. Dr. Camins appreciates the gesture of the Provincial Government and thanked Governor Angging and Dr. Untao for the unwavering support to all projects and programs of the MHO of Tubod.

Municipal Mayor Leoncio Bagol deeply recognized the action of the Provincial Government through the strong leadership of Governor Angging in which he personally handed over a Certificate of Appreciation to Dr. Untao.

Hundreds of residents including children gathered inside the Tubod Cultural Center as well as those who have come from nearby municipalities to avail the free medical and dental services offered by the Municipal Health Office and the Provincial Health Office. Free medicines were given to each patient after a thorough medical check-up conducted by the doctors from the MHO and the PHO. As well, a number of residents queued in for the dental check-up where some have their tooth extracted.

Dr. Melania P. Untao was happy to be part of this remarkable event for the people of the Municipality of Tubod. The Provincial Health Office is at all times ready to partner with all municipalities of Lanao del Norte and extend medical assistance to the people of the province.

Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo, as a public servant, sees to it that the people of Lanao del Norte are well secured and covered by all services in which the Provincial Government offers to the people of the province during EMBPs.

The “Alagang IQD: Especial Mass Based Program (EMBP)-Bringing the Government Closer to the People,” is a program crafted by the brilliant mind and caring heart of Governor Angging. Through this program, the people of Lanao del Norte regardless of creed, status or affiliations are given free access to all front line services of the Provincial Government by going-in to the barangays especially those situated in the hinterland areas of Lanao del Norte.

The People’s Day activity is in line with the celebration of the 71st Araw ng Tubod, 31st Sagingan Festival and 61st Annual Town Fiesta, and with the theme, “New Vision, New Direction Together Let Us Make a Difference.”PIO-LDN

On October 17, 2017, Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo participated in the commemoration of the 31st Sagingan Festival held at the Peoples Park in the Municipality of Tubod. This festival is one of the three festivities simultaneously celebrated in the weeklong merry making together with the 71st Araw ng Tubod and 61st Annual Town Fiesta.

Governor Angging was delighted to see how well organized the presentation of each participants and the creativity they possess in using indigenous materials as clearly shown in their costumes. The Governor thanked the people of the municipality for the support they provide to their Municipal Mayor, Leoncio Bagol. As well, Governor Angging mentioned the significant presence of Provincial Director Bruce Colao of the Department of Interior and Local Government and Department of Tourism Assistant Regional Director for Region 10, Decius “Yoyong” Esmedalla, on behalf of Secretary Wanda Corazon Tulfo-Teo of the Department of Tourism.

Lt. Col. Ericson V. Rosana of the 15th Infantry Battalion was also recognized by the Governor in their continuous effort in protecting the peaceful Province of Lanao del Norte and as partner in every Alagang IQD:Especial Mass Based Program (EMBP)-Bringing the Government Closer to the People. The teachers of the different schools and the parents, who are constantly behind their children’s activities, were deeply acknowledged by Governor Angging.

“The unity of the constituents of Lanao del Norte can be seen in every municipality of the province especially when celebrating a festival like this Sagingan Festival. The respect of one’s culture, tradition and religion is profoundly valued by all residents who have peacefully coexisted for years, as well for the advancement of the province’ development & progress while preserving our cultural heritage which made us unique and different from any other provinces of the country,” Governor Angging proudly stressed in her message.

Mayor Leoncio Bagol, expressed his gratitude to the Governor for her unwavering determination in continuously building a better and progressive Province of Lanao del Norte. “I am thankful to Governor Angging for her support to all development projects in our municipality and to other municipalities of the province. Her presence at this very moment is a clear proof that she cares for us and she likes to be with us…Let us continue to work together for the betterment of our municipality and carry on the activities initiated by the late Mayor Nelieta “Nenen” Quibranza-Noval for the good of the residents of the Municipality of Tubod.”

Provincial Director Colao of DILG, urged the Barangay Chairmen to stand united with the local government unit by helping in pushing forward the development projects and programs for the residents of the Municipality of Tubod.

DOT-R10, Assistant Regional Director Esmedalla, proudly mentioned that Sagingan Festival in one of the longest running festivals in the country today, and was happy to see that that people of Tubod preserves the culture by regularly celebrating the festival every year together with its Foundation Day and Town Fiesta. Interfaith Walk for Peace and Reconciliation 2017

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the Committee on Culture, Arts and Interfaith Relations in collaboration with Lanao del Norte Provincial Interfaith Council and the Universal Peace Federation-Mindanao has organized an Interfaith Walk for Peace and Reconciliation on October 11, 2017 in the Municipality of Balo-i in coordination with the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army.

Representatives from the religious sector, employees of the Municipal Government of Balo-i, Department of Education-Bacolod, and other stakeholders participated in this activity. Participants marched in the crusade for sustaining Peace from Balo-i Elementary Central School towards the Old Municipal Hall and ends at the New Municipal Building, an estimated 1.5 kilometer apart.

This activity is in support of the vision of the Province of Lanao del Norte in “Bridging Cultures and Religion”, as an avenue for achieving inclusive growth.

The purpose of this campaign is to raise awareness for Sustainable Peace in the province and throughout the country. The activity as well honours the fallen soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in the battle field of Marawi for the citizens to continuously live and sleep peacefully at night, and to the innocent civilians who were caught by the atrocities perpetrated by the terrorist group.

Series of activities culminates the day’s program and was highlighted by Peace Covenant Signing at the grounds of the New Municipal Hall.

More than 1000 individuals mostly internally displaced persons (IDPs) have joined the movement which was supervised by the Philippine National Police, 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion and the Philippine Red Cross – Lanao del Norte Chapter.

According to Hon. Grecille I. Matalines, 1st District Board Member, and Chairperson of the Committee on Culture, Arts and Interfaith Relations, “This is actually the 3rd Interfaith Walk for Peace that the Interfaith Council has organized. The first was in the Municipality of Sultan Naga Dimaporo on October 14, 2016, and the second was in the Municipality of Bacolod last February 13, 2017. We chose the Municipality of Balo-i as the host municipality this time, as this Municipality was the first Local Government Unit who responded and extended their help to the victims and evacuees of the Marawi hostilities.”

Featured in the event was the Art work of Nasif Cali, a 13 year old pupil from Denaig Elementary School, Municipality of Poona Piagapo. Cali’s work was adapted to the main concept design of the Interfaith Walk for Peace as seen in the backdrop of the tarpaulins and invitations. Nasif Cali won the United Nations World Food Programme’s (WFP) Children’s Design Competition last year in Rome and awarded him $100 while Denaig Elementary School received $200 for school supplies.

Governor Angging Leads Closing Ceremony of the 3rd Regional Youth Leadership Summit.

On October 5, 2017, Youth leaders who have come from the nearby areas of Lanao del Norte started to assemble in the Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex in the Municipality of Tubod to participate the 5 day activity for the 3rd Regional Youth Leadership Summit. The program aims to inculcate in the minds and hearts of these young leaders the values necessary in building better and brighter future.

Lt. Col. Jo-Ar A. Herrera told the young leaders on Friday (October 6) that the society needs the youth today and not tomorrow. With the theme, “Youth of Today, Our Partner for a Positive Activism,” is essential in sustaining the peace and prosperity in our community. The youth sector is full of ambitions and ideas, and the government and its agencies must work together to divert this into a positive outlook for a better society.

During the culmination ceremony on October 9, 2017, Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo congratulates the young leaders as graduates of the 3rd Regional Youth Leadership Summit.

Governor Angging thanked the 2nd and the 5th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Philippines not only to secure the province but being partners in every Alagang IQD: Especial Mass Based Program in providing the basic services to the people of Lanao del Norte by Bringing the Government Closer to them.

The Provincial Governor was grateful to the 1st Infantry TABAK Division for initiating the Youth Leadership Summit. The participation of the youth in nation building is enshrined in the 1987 Philippine Constitution. “The State recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation-building and shall promote and protect their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well-being. It shall inculcate in the youth patriotism and nationalism; and encourage their involvement in public and civic affairs.”

According to Governor Angging, “The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte is doing its own little way in preserving and protecting the interests of the youth by promoting sports and other essential activities that would foster unity among all residents of the province. One of these activities is the annual LANORTEMAN, a three leg triathlon series, where young local triathletes around the province participate together with other triathletes from other provinces and regions.”

The leadership of the Quibranza-Dimaporo give importance to the youth sector. Through this concern, the Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex was built to cater to the activities of the province especially in promoting sports and other assembly for the youth of Lanao del Norte.

Brigadier General Roseller G. Murillo, Commander of the 1st Infantry TABAK Division, explains to the youth leaders that you are the hope of a better future, “We don’t want to wake up in the morning running for our lives because there is a fire fight in the area. We too, as soldiers we don’t want this to happen.” The Philippine Government is initiating Anti-Terrorism Program to end radicalization and extremism for a better and peaceful society. Provincial Government employees of the Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center regularly conduct convocation every first day of the week. On Monday, 9 October 2017, The Provincial General Services Office leads the program attended by Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo.

The Governor encouraged the employees who have gathered in front of the Provincial Capitol. “We have to constantly improve the system of the Provincial Government in order for us to provide quality services to the residents of our beloved Lanao del Norte.”

The Province of Lanao del Norte through the leadership of Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo, 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah “Bobby” Dimakuta Dimaporo, who worked tirelessly by bringing-in various development projects and series of programs in the province to help alleviate the lives of its constituents.

In spite of the on-going crisis in Marawi City, the Province of Lanao del Norte remains peaceful. Business as usual for local entrepreneurs, private companies are operating normally, local government units are continuously serving the people and all schools in the province are regularly conducting classes.

The highway connecting the Province of Lanao del Norte to Zamboanga Peninsula and to Iligan City is safe for all travellers to pass by. The active presence of the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in strategic areas along the freeway contributes to the fast exchange of goods and services in and out of the province.

As public servants, Governor Angging wants all provincial government employees to be diligent and sincere in serving the people of Lanao del Norte. Regular employees should supervise, guide and teach these new breed of employees with the right mind set and attitude by acting as model to the latter.

“We are here to serve the people of Lanao del Norte, we must work as a family by supporting each other in delivering the needs of our fellow residents especially the less fortunate. We have to improve the system adaptable in this modern time. As Governor, I am here for the good of the people of Lanao del Norte,” Governor Angging told the employees of the Provincial Capitol. DOH TSEKAP Surgical Caravan Launched in Lanao del Norte

The Department of Health formally commenced the Surgical Caravan on October 3, 2017 at the New Provincial Hospital in the Municipality of Kapatagan. This is a nationwide program of DOH intended to address the surgical needs of the identified 20 million poorest of the poor Filipinos across the country. The Department of Health Region 10 in partnership with the Local Government Units of Lanao del Norte will perform a series of surgical operations to those identified and verified individuals who are in need of such medical operations.

Provincial Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo welcomes the caravan and expressed her gratitude to DOH 10 Regional Director, Dr. Nimfa B. Torrizo for giving priorities to the people of the Province of Lanao del Norte by endorsing to DOH Secretary Paulyn Jean B. Roselle-Ubial, which the latter approved without hesitation and to the Doctors of Amai Pakpak lead by Dr. Sharvyl Anthony Cantilla for including the province as part of this Surgical Caravan Program.

The Governor humbly asked the doctors present in the event that are not from the province to help or provide suggestions on how to improve the provincial hospitals in addressing the medical needs of the patients. The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte is serious in improving the services of the six provincial hospitals in both medical equipments and human services.

Dr. Melania A. Untao, head of the Provincial Health Office tirelessly comply with the requirements of the Department of Health by regularly attending seminars and other essential activities in the regional office in Cagayan de Oro City.

Dr. Sharvyl Anthony Cantilla hopes that this Surgical Caravan will be a success not only for their team from Amai Pakpak but also to the doctors of the New Kapatagan Provincial Hospital and to the Province of Lanao del Norte.

The TSEKAP Program or Tamang Serbisyo Para sa Kalusugan ng Pamilya with the theme, “ToDOH Alaga, May Sikap na, May Operasyon Pa!” In Lanao del Norte, this caravan will be up to October 5, 2017 at the New Kapatagan Provincial Hospital.

The Doctors of Amai Pakpak who willingly offered their services of the Surgical Caravan are the following.

On September 3, 2017, Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Aledo were thankful to the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the leadership of Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo and to the doctors and nurses who performed the operation of their son, Jameson Aledo, 13 years old. Residents of Purok 2 Concepcion, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte. As well as Mr. and Mrs. Lucman Elias Ampaso, who have expressed their gratitude to Governor Angging and to the doctors who conducted the cleft lip operation to Mohamad Maher, their 1 year old son, who resides in Tambo in the Municipality of Munai, Lanao del Norte.
