2nd TUPAD Orientation for 925 beneficiaries

2nd TUPAD Orientation for 925 beneficiaries.

Congressman Abdullah “Bobby” Dimakuta Dimaporo, 2nd District Representative resumes its program of providing assistance to displaced/disadvantaged workers in the Province of Lanao del Norte. On July 29, 2017, an orientation was held inside Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium for the 925 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) workers in continuous partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment-Region X through Provincial Director Remegio Cabañog.

TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced workers is a community-based packaged of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed the maximum number of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed. Those who were laid off or terminated as a result of permanent closure of an establishment; and those who were self-employed and have lost their livelihoods (including farmers and fishermen) because of natural or man-made disasters are given priority by this program.

PD Cabañog said “TUPAD is a community based project to give emergency employment sa atong mga informal sector. When it comes to the development of labor in Lanao del Norte we do not let any boundaries divide us ma 1st district man o ma 2nd district man our initiative is para sa kaayuhan sa katawhan diri sa Lanao del Norte. Ang 2nd Congressional District when it comes to government programs and projects will keep pushing para sa atong komunidad sa Lanao del Norte”.

These 925 beneficiaries are members of one of the eight associations from the six municipalities of Magsaysay, Sapad, Tubod, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lala and Kapatagan.

The associations are named with corresponding members:

  • Banana Grower’s Association of Tubod, 25
  • Y4D Lala & Kapatagan, 80
  • OFW Families and Relatives, 103
  • Sari-sari Store Women’s Association, 99
  • Maranding Drug Surrenderee, 200
  • Father Gallenzoga’s Benefeciaries, 50
  • HomeFarming, 155
  • Sea-Dwellers, 213

Senior Labor and Employment Officer Criste P. Perfecto gave the orientation to the beneficiaries on how will they receive their pay, what will their jobs be and what are their benefits while under the TUPAD program. Workers safety and leniency of the work are given priorities to this program.

Congressman Bobby reminds participants that unity, cooperation and understanding are essentials in making the community progressive and prosperous.

The Quibranza-Dimaporo Initiative persistently provides assistance to the constituents of Lanao del Norte particularly those who are in need by availing the various programs like TUPAD. This program help beneficiaries ease the burden of their day to day expenses and prepare them for the future job hiring opportunities. PIO-LDN
