TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Thursday, January 19, 2023, provided relief for flood-affected residents in the municipalities of Tubod and Baroy.
 
A total of 500 sacks were turned-over to Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Dela Cruz Quibranza and the respective mayors, Mayor Dionisio Cabahug Jr. and Mayor Grelina Mantuhac-Lim of the two municipalities. 440 sacks went to Tubod as the municipality had the most number of affected individuals while Baroy gets the remaining 60 sacks.
 
Aldrine Fermin, a representative from the Office of the Vice President’s Disaster Operations Center (OVP-DOC), said, “Para po sa lahat ng mga kababayan natin na nabahaan ang bigas na ito. tanggapin nyo po yung tulong na binigay sa atin ng ating Vice President Sara Duterte.”
 
Additionally, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), also distributed food packs to 30 residents present during the ceremonial turnover held at the Cultural Center in Tubod.
 
Governor Angging extended her heartfelt gratitude to Vice President Sara Duterte for reaching out to the community “Bisan paman sa pagka busy sa atong Vice President, wala gyud ta niya kalimti diri sa lalawigan sa Lanao del Norte.”
 
The Governor also reiterated her concern regarding the bad practices that caused the heavy flooding in the area, saying, “Lahi na gayud ang atoang klima karon tungod sa climate change. Ang pag labay bisan asa sa atong mga basura ug ang ilegal na pag putol sa mga kahoy sa atong mga kabukiran, mao kana ang rason sa pagkanaog sa buhong na tubig diri.”
 
Primitiva Atamosa, a resident of Poblacion, Tubod, after receiving her 10 kilos of rice and food pack, said, “Daghang salamat sa tabang ni Vice President, dako nani nga tabang sa amoang naigo sa baha.” PIO-LDN
