TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – As the weather condition improved Tuesday, January 10, 2023, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte deployed two teams to assess and validate the damages brought by the impacts of heavy flooding and landslide in the province due to the trough of low pressure area (LPA).
As of 4:00 PM of the same day, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported 26 totally and 69 partially damaged houses in 5 municipalities, reaching P1,811,000 total damages, and P12,979,236 total damages to infrastructure and other properties.
The Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) and Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) also reported more than P259M estimated cost of damage to rice, corn, high-value commercial crops, fisheries, and livestock produce.
Lanao del Norte Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Dela Cruz Quibranza encouraged LGUs to conduct Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) to ensure that the situation in the affected areas is rapidly and timely reported to the authorities and the constituents, and also for the Provincial Government to give immediate and necessary help to affected residents.
