TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Some 1,320 youth leaders from the municipalities of Lanao del Norte joined the recently concluded Youth Congress 2022 at the MCC Gymnasium, Tubod.
The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through its Provincial Population Office (PPO), headed by Ananette Daniel, gathered all leaders from 19 municipalities, recognizing and highlighting the contributions of the youth in nation-building.
Themed “Lihok Kabatan-onan, Lalawigan Atong Abagan”, this year’s celebration became a meaningful one as it is the first time after almost 3 long years of the pandemic that the youth is gathered to get involved and take action on the issues that directly impact their welfare and future.
The PPO partnered with a panel of distinguished speakers to deliver inspiring messages on relevant topics that include Leadership by the Department of the Interior and Local Government-LDN Provincial Director Bruce Colao; Teenage Pregnancy by Provincial Population Officer Ananette Daniel; Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC) by Neil Vincent Braga of the International Justice Mission; and Drug Awareness by PSSG Jessie Luzon of the Philippine National Police.
Hon. Dahlia Cristobal-Garcia, Sangguniang Kabataan Federated President-LDN/Ex-Officio Board Member, thanked the initiative of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Dela Cruz Quibranza for making the long-awaited event possible, saying, “The Provincial Government fully supports programs and activities that empower the youth and develop their full potentials in building a community that is healthy, safe, progressive and inclusive.
“Educating the youth is vital in squarely addressing the different issues that we are facing today, especially here in our province. We are hoping for closer coordination with our youth leaders through the Sangguniang Kabataan,” Daniel said. PIO-LDN
