TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Members of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of this province convened on November 25, 2022, at the MCC Hotel Function Hall, Sagadan, Tubod, for a joint meeting presided by Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Dela Cruz Quibranza, for the last quarter of 2022.
 
The said meeting paved the way for the Provincial Disaster Risk reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to present and endorse to the Council the 5% Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (LDRRMF) for Calendar Year 2023 Annual Investment Plan (AIP) and the Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), as well as the 5% DRRM Fund for CY 2022 Untilization Report.
 
Upon the discussion of the accomplishment reports of the four thematic areas in DRRM, Governor Angging conveyed her concern on the lack of proper waste management of each municipalities saying, “People must be educated to not dispose of their garbage anywhere and observe proper segregation of wastes up until it reaches the landfills.”
 
Along with the 4th quarter meeting, Abeliza Manzano, head of the PDRRMO, also happilly announced in advance that the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, along with the Municipalities of Tubod, Kapatagan, SND, and Kolambugan were recognized as BEYOND COMPLIANT Local DRRM, while the municipalities of Baloi, Matungao, Kauswagan, Bacolod, Maigo, Baroy and Sapad were declared as FULLY COMPLIANT LGUs on the Gawad KALASAG CY 2022 results.
 
“This is a very great milestone for us here in Lanao del Norte because these recognitions mean that our LGUs adhere and exceed the standards for the establishment and functionality of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and Offices (LDRRMCOs),” Manzano said. PIO-LDN
