TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Doctors, nurses, and drivers, working in the Provincial Health Office and the respective Municipal Rural Health Unit participated in the recently conducted five-day training on Basic Life Support (BLS) and Standard First Aid (SFA), conducted by the Department of Health Region X, on November 14-18, 2022.
The activity aims to provide the participants with sufficient knowledge to swiftly provide first aid during an accident or disaster. The said series of lectures and simulation activities took place at the Function Hall of the Mindanao Civic Center Hotel.
In such training, the participants were taught the correct method of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as well as the different types of bandaging and the rules followed in giving first aid.
“Equipping our health personnel with the skills and knowledge useful during emergencies would greatly contribute to lowering the number of injuries and casualties and strengthening the disaster preparedness of our community,” Dr. Grace Joy Yañez, Provincial Health Officer, said. PIO-LDN
