TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through the leadership of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, successfully conducted a 3-day Health Emergency Response Operation (HERO) Training Course intended for the health sector in the province.
 
The training was organized in response to the need to strengthen the capacity of health workers to respond to public health emergencies.
 
Guests from the Department of Health Region 10 were the resource speakers and facilitators of the workshops that was participated by the doctors of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and staff, Rural Health Units (RHU) doctors and staff, and selected hospital personnel.
 
Furthermore, the DOH 10 emphasized the importance of DRRM and health operations ideas and skills management, such as mass casualty management, throughout the organizational shift to emergencies and disasters.
 
“This training is essential for us to be familiar with basic concepts in disaster management and emergency response operations, capable of setting up an Operations Center (OPCEN) when needed and can coordinate stakeholders involved in response activities,” Dr. Grace Joy Yañez, Provincial Health Officer said.
