TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – 12 secondary schools of the 1st District of this province received e-learning equipment in the form of laptops from 1st District Representative Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo.

In a turnover program held last Friday, November 4, 2022, 2nd District Congresswoman Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo graced on behalf of her elder brother, saying, “This is from the 5Million LGSF (Local Government Support Fund) of Khalid. In LGSF, he can pick where he wanted to put it, but he chose to put it in education.”

Cong. Khalid personally asked the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for this Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Unit (LGSF-FALGU), for he sees the need of the public schools for laptops. The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte facilitated the procurement process of the said e-learning units, and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) – LDN monitored the implementation of the project.

The 115 units of Intel i3 Lenovo 15.6″ laptops were divided among the 12 public high schools that will hopefully help the teachers and learners develop virtual competencies, particularly in e-learning systems, download course materials, and interact with lectures online.

Present during the turnover program were Vice Governor Allan Lim, Committee on Education Chairman Board Member Marivic Ramos, Board Member Reinario Bihag, DepEd-LDN Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Edilberto L. Oplenaria, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Rosemarie Macesar, and the principals of the said beneficiary schools.

“The good thing about me being in the 2nd District and Khalid being in the 1st District is the healthy competition; we are just doing what’s best for the constituents,” Cong. Aminah added.

SDS Oplenaria expressed his heartfelt thanks to the leaders for always thinking of ways to improve the education system in the province and said, “What we feel now with my dear school heads is the love and care from the Quibranza-Dimaporo family to the Department of Education.”

The Provincial Government lauds the DepED for the national and local accomplishments and awards they earned that made Lanao del Norte known throughout the country. However, Board Member Ramos reminded the school heads to be vigilant and closely monitor the learners on what they see online.

The activity took place in Meeting Room A, Old Provincial Capitol Building, Pigcarangarangan, Tubod.PIO-LDN
