TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Carrying the theme “Rethinking Tourism”, the Provincial Tourism Office celebrated this year’s World Tourism Day through a Tourism Stakeholders’ Assembly.

This assembly aims to gather all tourism-related associations and various tourism partners to strengthen the partnership among service providers and further intensify efforts for the development and progress of the tourism industry in the province.

As September 27 is celebrated as World Tourism Day, the PTourism Office, headed by Alerma Grace Yorong-Montañez, invited various tourism-related service providers – thirty (30) tourism site owners/managers, ten (10) members of the League of Local Tourism Officers (LLTO), 22 DOT accredited Lanao del Norte Hotel and Restaurant Association (LANHORA) members, Lanorte Mountaineering Club, Inc. (LAMOC) members, Lanao del Norte Vloggers Association (LANOVA) members, Association of Lanao del Norte Make-up Artists (ASLANOMA) officers, and Guides of Lanao del Norte (GLANORTE) members.

“These groups and associations have been with us in ensuring that the tourism here in our province is continuously thriving,” Montañez said.

“This year’s tourism month has given us more opportunity to rethink how we do tourism. It is putting the people and planet first and bringing everyone together around a shared vision for a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient sector,” she added.

The activity was held at the MCC Function Hall, Tubod, Lanao del Norte. Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member and Committee Chairman on Tourism, Board Member Haron Omar Jr., also graced the assembly.PIO-LDN
