TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – In line with the Tourism Month celebration, the first activity that the Provincial Tourism Office initiated was the Training on Branding and Marketing for Tourism Related MSMEs conducted last September 1-2, 2022, at the MCC Hotel Function Hall, Tubod town.
This activity is in partnership with The Asia Foundation (TAF), with the support of the VISA Foundation under their program Accelerate Women’s Entrepreneurship and Access to Capital in the Philippines, which aims to educate and help MSMEs understand the importance of branding and marketing, and teach them to utilize social media as a great medium to reach more customers.
“We have invited 100 tourism establishments to join this 2-day activity for them to get access to new market opportunities and recognize other creative and innovative strategies on how to promote their products and services to a wider market,” Alerma Montañez, the Provincial Tourism Officer said.
Jerryll Reyes, Program Manager of Accelerate from The Asia Foundation (TAF), facilitated the said training that encouraged participants to produce their output, like logo sketches, Facebook pages, and other e-commerce platforms.
Atty. Mark Christopher Babor, Provincial Legal Officer, and Acting Provincial Administrator also graced the program to show complete support to the tourism-related MSMEs in the province.
Other activities for this year’s Tourism Month celebration are Touriva, Beauty Tourism, Tour Circuit Workshop, LLTO Greening & Healthy Tourism Activity, Tour Guiding & Basic Mountaineering Seminar for Tourism Workers, HIV Awareness for Tourism Stakeholders and Cold Spring Tour, Bacolod-Maigo-Kolambugan-Tubod Tourism Product Update, World Clean-up Day: Story Telling and Clean-up Drive, Wood Carving Competition and Exhibit, and Tourism Stakeholders’ Assembly 2022.
