KAPATAGAN, Lanao del Norte – In line with the celebration Linggo ng Kabataan 2022, the Provincial Population Office of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, in partnership with the Provincial Youth Development Office, Provincial Youth Development Council, and the Provincial Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Lanao del Norte, successfully conducted a Brigada Eskwela Program to reach Predication Maghinay Terez Primary School, a remote school situated in Sitio Slide, Kidalos, Kapatagan town, Saturday, August 20, 2022.
The school received 15 gallons of paint, paint thinner, paint brushes, and 120 new backpacks with school supplies for the kids.
The School Supplies Program served school-aged children whose families are unable to purchase the needed school supplies, especially since most of the residents in this far-flung area belong to the Indigenous People or Subanen Tribe.
Richard Reyes, Population Program Worker and the Provincial Youth Development Officer Designate of the Provincial Population Office, said, “Our aim is to keep the children in school and address the dropout problem through the means of school supplies. It is our way to help them for a fresh start to secure their future, inspire them to continue dreaming for a better life,”
To the teaching force, parents and children of PMTPS, headed by Sir Carlos Soleta, thanked the team for walking miles to extend help to their school and choosing them as the beneficiary of the program.
Reyes also acknowledged the workforce behind the successful distribution activity, especially to Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Dela Cruz Quibranza, LGU Kapatagan, headed by Mayor Barry Y. Baguio, the Provincial Population Officer, Ananette Daniel, the Municipal Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President, Ms. Marian Jule Catabas Cedeño, and the students of Colegio de Kapatagan (Social Work and Criminology Department) for rendering their service.
