SALVADOR, Lanao del Norte – The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte (PGLDN), through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), turned over a supplemental support for the feeding program of the Municipality of Salvador on August 19, 2022.
 
This initiative focuses on feeding pregnant women and children aged 6-23 months old in every community in Salvador.
Jenny Trixie Trinidad, Public Health Nurse of Salvador Municipal Health Office (MHO), expressed her gratitude to the PGLDN and said,” thankful kaayo me sa LGU Salvador sa gehatag nga opportunity nga makabaton ani nga mga supplemental commodities na amo usab mahatag sa mga pregnant women og mga malnourished nga bata nga nanginanglan”.
 
The team, composed of personnel from the PHO led by Dr. Charmaigne Canopin, and the working force of MHO Salvador, started the distribution held at the Covered Court of Brgy. Poblacion.
 
Over 94 pregnant women will receive the good packs comprising 10 kilos of rice, powdered milk, a tray of eggs, and iodized salt. Meanwhile, they also aim to cater to 393 underweight children wherein they will receive a tray of eggs and iodized salt.
 
This program intends to serve as an avenue to address short-term hunger and reduce cases of nutrient deficiency.
Jemely Lumabao, 7 months pregnant mother from P-1 Poblacion, said “Dako kay kog pasalamat kay sa ka krisis karon wala me bugas og kulang ra ang sweldo sa akong bana ilabina naa me utang ginagmay. Pasalamat sad ko nga sa kadaghang buros og bata usa kami sa nahatagan”.
 
The distribution of the good packs to the rest of the barangays in the municipality will then be conducted by the LGU Salvador. PIO-LDN
