TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Members of the Municipal Committee on Interfaith of Lanao del Norte and various religious denomination leaders convened at the Macapagal Training Center for an acquaintance program yesterday, August 16, 2022.
 
Marivic Ramos, Sangguniang Panlalawigan member and Chairman of the Committee on Culture, Arts, and Interfaith Relations, organized the said gathering to establish good rapport among members, especially now that all municipalities are encouraged to put in place an official Committee on Interfaith.
 
“Bisan unsa pa na sitwasyon sa kinabuhi ang atong giatubang, kung walay Ginoo na mu giya kanato, wala kitay kalinaw. Mao kini siya ang atong kinahanglan ipropagate ngadto sa atong mga kaigsuonan sa atong mga munisipyo,” BM Ramos said.
 
Bro. Renato Caballero Jr., Chairman of the Provincial Interfaith Council, in his speech, highlighted the importance of unity and reconciliation among believers in any denomination in the province. He also shed light on the accomplishments of the council as a constant reminder that both Muslims and Christians alike can live in peace and unity despite their differences and religious affiliations.
 
Under their project “Igsuon ko, Tulobagon ko”, many of the council’s outreach activities extended inside and outside the province. From the giving of food and free haircut, to the accomplishment of their 2nd house repair project, they were able to help those people in dire need of help.
 
Present during the event were former SP Member and now the Interfaith Consultant David Ditucalan, SP Member Achmad Taha, SP Member and newly installed President of the Provincial Councillors League Lyndon Abucay, SP Member Grecille Matalines, Bishop Arsenio Licera, and Al-Ustad Ampaso, President of Salam Advocacy Group.
 
Councilors of the different municipalities that are present were also given a chance to voice their concerns concerning the future development plans of the Municipal Committee on Interfaith for the term 2022-2025. PIO-LDN
