LALA, Lanao del Norte – Some 1,927 residents received P5,000 worth of cash aid from the Assistance to Individual in a Crisis Situation (AICS) Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) last August 18-19, 2022, in partnership with the office of former 2nd District Representative Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo.
 
The said two-day payout activity took place at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Building on the first day and in Lala Municipal Gymnasium on the second day.
 
Raiz Ampaso, Social Welfare and Development Team Leader of the DSWD, expressed his gratitude to former Cong. Abdullah for extending his help to the department and said, “Naghatag ta ug financial assistance sa atong mga nagkalain-lain na sectors sama sa mga farmers, vendors, habal-habal drivers, ug uban. Sila ang atong target beneficiaries tungod kay sila ang pinaka apektado sa pandemic hangtod karon,”
 
Present during the payout himself is former Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo, along with his daughter and now the newly-elected 2nd District Congresswoman Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo, who personally interacted with the beneficiaries.
 
“Mao na akong gi promise na ipadayon nako ang mga ginabuhat sa atong former Congressman Abdullah,” Congresswoman Aminah said.
 
Francisca Vergilio, a resident of San Manuel, Lala, said, “Nalipay gyud kami na naa ning mga ayuda sa gobyerno na gihatag kay maka tabang sa among kawad-on.”
 
AICS is a government program that serves as a social safety net or stop-gap measure to support the recovery of indigenous individuals and families suffering from unexpected life events or crises. PIO-LDN
