TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The Provincial Veterinary Office has completed the 1st batch distribution of 70 goats and 15 carabaos to target farmer recipients on Friday, July 22, 2022.
The said distribution ceremony was held at the DA Compound, Pigcarangan, Tubod, attended by all farmer recipients in Tubod. Farmers residing far away were no longer required to claim their animals as they were delivered or dropped to their respective municipalities.
This project is taken under the 20% Development Fund of C.Y 2021, benefiting those LGU-identified farmers who were affected by calamities.
“The carabaos were given as grants to the farmers to till their lands and to help them in their livelihood. Most of our beneficiaries also received goats as their areas are suitable for goat-raising,” Dr. Fritzie Provido, Provincial Veterinarian, said.
Board Member Reinario Bihag, Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, graced the event and, in an interview, said, “Isa ragyud ang akong hangyo sa mga beneficiaries niining programa sa gobyerno, na unta ila gyud kining ampingan kay kini para sa ilang kaugalingon aron matabangan ang ilang panginabuhi.”
(My only request to the beneficiaries of programs of the government is that they should really take care of it because it is for themselves to help their livelihood.) PIO-LDN
