TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte on Wednesday invited various LGUs, national line agencies, and civil society organizations for a public hearing on Disaster Risk Reduction – Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CCA) Enhanced Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDFFP) for the year 2019-2024.
Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, Engr. Anecita Lendio presented and led the discussion of the updated DRR-CCA enhanced PDPFP, a timely initiative that integrates the socio-economic and physical dimensions of provincial development planning that will also tackle strategies for adaptation and resilience of the province in the face of climate change.
On behalf of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Dela Cruz Quibranza, Vice Governor Allan Lim, attended the hearing and, in his speech, said, “Climate change, disaster resilience, and enhancing environmental sustainability are interconnected and urgent agendas. They are crucial in achieving our local development goals and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.”
The goal of the PPFP is to include improving marginalized families’ socio-economic well-being with equitable access to services, utilities, and amenities; ensuring the safety and security of vulnerable families and communities; ensuring protection and preservation of critical ecosystems; and having an efficient, people-centered local governance.
Participants from local and national line agencies were also given a chance to speak to convey their thoughts that will be vitally incorporated into the finalization of the said plan.
Also present during the half-day event were the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members and department heads of the Provincial Government. PIO-LDN
