KAPATAGAN, Lanao del Norte – Some 13 corn clusters and six farmers’ associations received 10M worth of farm machines from the Provincial Government in a turn-over ceremony on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Provincial Nursery Seed Farm located in Kapatagan town.
Through the Provincial Agriculture Office, headed by Letecia Ditucalan, Provincial Agriculturist, the PGLDN was able to give a total of eight ( 8 ) units of mini corn harvester, seven (7) units of mechanical corn sheller, and six (6) units of multi-function tiller/cultivator. All of these aids were taken from the 20% development fund.
Qualified municipalities are those that have corn farmers/clusters with 200 hectares.
“This initiative is through Governor Angging, who deeply cares for our farmers and wants to increase the production of corn while reducing the work of our corn farmers in the province,” PA Ditucalan said.
Beneficiaries expressed their delight in being the recipients of the said machinery, thinking that these machines would vitally improve their corn and vegetable production.
The event was also attended by Vice Governor Allan Lim and Board Member and Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Reinario Bihag.
In his speech, Vice Governor Lim stressed the importance of agriculture and mutual support in a progressive province and said, “Kung naa ang kooperasyon, naa ang kalambuan.” PIO-LDN
