TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Some 100 students benefit from the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) of the Department of Labor and Employment in Lanao del Norte.
Through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte conducted an orientation for the newly-hired students held at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Hall, Pigcarangan, Tubod, on July 5, 2022.
SPES is DOLE’s youth employment-bridging program which aims to provide temporary employment to poor but deserving students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of displaced or would-be displaced workers during summer and/or Christmas vacation or any time of the year to augment the family’s income to help ensure that beneficiaries are able to pursue their education.
PGLDN-PESO Manager, Ms. Evelyn A. Lopez, said, “The grantees of this program were assigned to the various provincial and national government offices for 20 days.”
Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Dela Cruz Quibranza also graced the orientation to convey her words of encouragement to the beneficiaries. The Governor also commended the efforts of the PGLDN-PESO, through the leadership of Ms. Lopez, for always working hard and taking initiatives for the constituents despite the limited number of staff.
“Kini na programa sa DOLE, tabang lamang sa inyoha. Busa, pagtarong kamo sa inyong pag eskwela para maka tabang kamo sa inyong mga pamilya puhon,” Governor Angging said. PIO-LDN
