TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Some 1,405 beneficiaries in Lanao del Norte received P3,650 worth of wages from the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and employment on June 2-3, 2022.
The said TUPAD payout was held at the MCC Gymnasium which was facilitated by the Public Service Employment Office (PESO) and the DOLE X.
Renalyn Bulos, a resident of Maigo, said, “Dako kay kong pasalamat nga usa ko sa mga nakadawat ani kay since pandemic man karon, dako nani na tabang sa among inadlaw na kosumo.”
(I am very thankful that I am one of the recipients because since we are now in the pandemic, it will be a big help to our daily consumption.)
Evelyn Lopez, the LDN PESO manager, said that this is the first TUPAD payout of the year since it is a mixture of the remaining 2021 and 2022 budgets, intended to cater and give assistance to those constituents belonging to the informal sector.
Solo parents were also catered to through this program of the DOLE. The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) went to the different municipalities to personally give the wages to the said beneficiaries. This way, they no longer have to spend on expensive fares for public transportation.
“Our PESO Manager, Ms. Lopez, is fast in profiling the beneficiaries and making sure that the right people get the right benefits,” Criste Perfecto, Supervising LEO and OIC-Provincial Head said. PIO-LDN
