TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Four (4) beneficiaries and their families were sent back to their home municipalities in the province through the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program (BP2) on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
 
The Provincial Government, through the Provincial Planning and Development Office and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), fetched the said families from the Laguindingan Airport and transported them to their barangays in the municipalities of Kauswagan, Baroy, Tubod, and Lala.
 
Jojie Lapinig, after 18 years of working as a construction worker in Cavite, will finally return to his home in Tubod town. He said he wanted to start anew with his family in the province as he lost his job due to the pandemic.
 
According to the DSWD and the NHA representatives who were also present to meet the beneficiaries, returning residents will be provided with transitory shelter assistance, livelihood settlement grant, and transitory family support package depending on their assessment of the families’ needs. The beneficiaries also received hygiene kits, sleeping kits, kitchen utensils, and food item packages from the PSWDO.
 
Lilibeth Domo, one of the beneficiaries, expressed her heartfelt thanks for after 22 years of residing in Metro Manila with her family, they can finally return to her hometown in Kauswagan.
 
“Sobrang saya namin kasi doon noong pandemic sobrang nag hirap talaga kami. Dito nalang kami mag uumpisa ng bagong buhay at bagong pangarap,” Domo said.
 
A total of 8 BP2 family beneficiaries from Northern Mindanao arrived on Tuesday, including three families from Bukidnon and one from Iligan City. PIO-LDN
