TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo chaired the First Quarter Provincial Health Board Meeting for CY 2022 last March 9, 2022, held at the Rhianna’s Restaurant, MCC Complex. The entire force of the Provincial Health Office, led by Dr. Marujetta Opamen, facilitated the meeting. As one of the pilot provinces to primarily integrate Universal Health Care, the Health Board deliberated the updates on UHC implementation. They were able to open a Special Health Fund (SHF) Bank Account and have a separate book of accounts for SHF.
Further, Dr. Francis A. Ramos, Medical Specialist I of PhilHealth-X Accreditation Section, discussed the expansion of the PhilHealth Primary Care Benefit For all: Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (KONSULTA). This is a vital program for it applies to everyone, not just indigents. With their goal to expand their service to every community, Ms. Christine Mae Garcia-Magno, the Chief of Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) PhilHealth Iligan – LDN, also announced that they will start distributing PhilHealth IDs to 2400 qualified students aged 22 and above who have enrolled to their partnered schools. These students were from Christ the King College of Maranding, LSSTI, NCMC, Tubod college, MSU-LNAC, Kolehiyo de Kapatagan, ICI-Kapatagan, and MSU-MAIGO. Aside from the updates of the COVID 19 cases, the Health Board also tackles other measures that the LGUs and the Provincial Government can implement to help the vaccination program of the Department of Health (DOH).
Governor Dimaporo also said that” though we have lesser and very low positive cases, we are still in the Alert level 2 due to the low percentage of vaccination accomplishment.” Despite the efforts and motivations of PGLDN and the LGUs, there are still 266,716 (45.30%) individuals who are fully vaccinated as of the last week of February 2022.
Governor Dimaporo stated the importance of the continued monitoring and implementation of information drive within every community. “We need to work together to make our dream work.
