TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Employees of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte welcomed the first day of March as they celebrated the start of National Women’s Month and Fire Prevention Month on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
The flag raising ceremony and convocation program were led by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) personnel, who never failed to remind everyone that fire prevention is a shared responsibility.
With the theme “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog Hindi ka Nag-iisa”, the celebration of Fire Prevention Month promotes safety consciousness among the people every day of the year. A preventive approach to a problem can be solved by more caution, vigilance, sobriety, the exercise of common sense, and respect for the law.
To bring color to the Provincial Capitol and also in celebration of Women’s Month, Governor Imelda ‘Anggig’ Quibranza- Dimaporo prepared a vibrant purple-colored decoration at the entrance of the building.
Themed “We make change work for women”, Governor Dimaporo wanted to highlight the gains achieved for women and girls, assess actions towards gender equality, and look forward to steps that must be taken to ensure progress in empowering women.
“We are still reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic, but these month-long celebrations are here to remind us to stay strong and continue to work together,” Governor Dimaporo said. PIO-LDN
