
KAPATAGAN, Lanao del Norte – Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo personally graced the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the new Out-Patient Department Building on February 21, 2022, held at Kapatagan Provincial Hospital.
The OPD building is a 7million project funded under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) of the Department of Health (DOH) for CY 2021. “We are grateful to the DOH for this new project and the support of Governor Dimaporo for the equipment. The construction will last for five months, but the contractor assures us that he will speed up the project to 3 months. We are all excited and also hoping that it will be finished and available before the retirement of our COH, Dr. Fernandez.”
Ms. Mary Angelyn Caracut, the KPH Hospital Administrator Designate, reiterated.
Vice Governor Maria Cristina Atay was also present in the ceremony, along with SP Board Member Abdul Harris Ali, Chairperson on the Committee of Health, Dr. Marujetta Opamen, the Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Jovette Guinal, DOH-PDOHO, and Ms. Sittie Aminah Q. Dimaporo, the former PGLDN Administrator.
Ms. Sittie Aminah said,” Here in Lanao del Norte, the programs and services will not be realized without the cooperation not only amongst ourselves but also with our development partners like the DOH.” She congratulated KPH for another milestone and appealed to sustain and enhance the quality of service for the benefit of every patient. “With all the support given by PGLDN and DOH, you give it back in terms of good and quality service. There is no such thing as a perfect system, but there is such thing as improvement”, she added.
During the event, Vice Governor Atay substantially shared points about the new PROVINCIAL ORDINANCE NO. 02-2022, wherein she stressed the importance of presenting the Vaccination Cards and Valid ID upon entering establishments and government offices in the province.
The Chairperson on the Committee of Health, BM Ali, also extends gratitude to the support given by DOH and the diligence of the staff and officials of the KPH. “This project proves that the Province strives to provide the people with the best medical attention and also to improve the healthcare expertise and services, bringing them closer to the people,” he said.
In her message, Governor Dimaporo recognized the importance of the building to decongest the patients in the emergency room and provide efficient departmentalization of services such as surgery, internal medicine, pediatric, ob-gyn, and a lot more.
“Our provincial hospitals enormously changed and improved compared to then. Since then, I have been trying to enhance our facilities to have good quality medical services. I am grateful for all your help and effort. We have deliberately lifted our healthcare system in our province even during the health crisis and hoping that this will expand and develop even more to cater to the needs of every constituent “, Governor Dimaporo said.
