TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The Department of Public Works and highways of Region X facilitated the 1st Multi-Partite Monitoring Team Meeting together with the sectoral groups of Lanao del Norte in February 17, 2022.
As support, Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo joined the meeting along with Congressman Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo of the 2nd District and Ms. Sittie Aminah Q. Dimaporo as representative of Congressman Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo of the 1st District. At the meeting, PGLDN officials met DPWH – UPMO Project Director, Director Sharif Madsmo H. Hasim, and DPWH Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain, the Chief Implemmeter of the Build, Build, Build (BBB) Flagship Projects of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
According to Usec Sadain, implementing the BBB projects was never easy due to various lockdowns and effects of the pandemic the completion of the Panguil Bay Bridge (PBB) Project got delayed. From the proposed December 2022 deadline, the target accomplishment was moved to December 2023.
“It is good to see that the contractors, consultants, and DPWH, along with the cooperation of the Local Government Unit, particularly Governor Dimaporo, have manifested great support to the implementation of the Tubod project site. Today we are now on the right track of implementing this project. In fact, out of 54 bored piles, there are 45 bored piles completed, the remaining nine piers towards the end of March. We’ll be targeting that by December 2022 we’ll have 80% development so that we’ll have this completed on December 2023”, Usec Sadain stated.
Along with the PBB Project updates, Usec Sadain also proposed to the MMT the creation of an “Infrastructure Monitoring Advisory Committee (IMAC).” He recommended to the group to make Governor Dimaporo the Chairperson of IMAC. This committee will be composed of the DPWH, the Provincial Governor’s Office, and different stakeholders/sectoral groups in the province. It should aim to discuss issues concerning the project and generate comprehensive solutions to help its development.
Governor Dimaporo expressed her gratitude to the trust given by the Undersecretary and assured their unwavering support for the smooth accomplishment of the project.
“This bridge was an idea of my father-in-law, Governor Arsenio Quibranza. We are not after anything other than the completion of this project, and I hope that we can work together for this”, Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo reiterated.
The BBB Program of President Duterte is consists of 119 projects all over the archipelago, 49 of them are handled by the DPWH, and the different national line agencies manage the rest.
