TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Some 715 unemployed and displaced workers in the province received aid from the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program through the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), funded by SenatorJoel “TESDAMAN” Villanueva.
The beneficiaries received P3,650 each, worth for ten (10) working days. The payout was held at the MCC gym, Tubod, on January 19-22, 2022, and was facilitated by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) LDN headed by Evelyn Lopez and the DOLE X staff.
“This TUPAD program provides employment for our displaced workers, underemployed, and seasonal workers for ten days, with daily wages of P365 each,” Lopez said.
Villanueva, who secured the funding for the said program, sees the importance of an emergency employment program, especially during this pandemic when some Filipinos are still recovering from the loss of employment or livelihood.
Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza- Dimaporo said, “We are very grateful to the DOLE and Senator Villanueva for granting 715 residents additional income. I hope this will somehow help alleviate the struggles of our displaced workers due to the pandemic.” PIO-LDN
