A total of 241 Persons with Disability (PWDs) from the different municipalities of Lanao del Norte received livelihood aid and temporary employment from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD).
The said payout of the wages amounting to P3,650 each for ten days of employment was funded by Senator Loren Legarda and facilitated by the Public Employment Service Office LDN (PESO) and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) on January 19-22, 2022, in the 14 selected municipalities.
(We made sure to go to every municipality so that our PWDs will not have to spend money and struggle in commuting to claim their wages.)
The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through the leadership of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, DOLE, and Sen. Legarda are one in the belief that Persons with Disability should not be left behind in the efforts to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The PWDs, under normal circumstances, already experience barriers that hinder them from fully participating in society and are further aggravated by the current circumstances that the pandemic has brought about. Thus, we always aim to include them in our programs,” Governor Dimaporo said. PIO-LDN
