Through the initiative of 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo and 2nd District Representative Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, on January 12, 2022, gave an opportunity to 326 residents to have a decent income through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program promoted under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The said payout activity was facilitated by DOLE Region X staff led by Criste Perfecto, Supervising LEO, OIC-Provincial Head, and the Provincial Community Affairs Office headed by Lyndon G. Calica, held at the Mindanao Civic Center, Sagadan, Tubod.
A total of 186 residents from the first district received P3,650 each for rendering ten (10) days of work, and 140 residents from the second district received P6,000 each for rendering 16 days of work.
TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers for a minimum period of 10 to 16 days.
Gaviliosa Aleria, 63, a resident of Brgy. Pikiinit, SND, said, “Dako among pasalamat sa DOLE, labi na sa atong mga kongresista og kay Gov. Angging kay naapil gyud mi sa mga nakadawat aning TUPAD. Maka dungag gyud ni pang gasto sa among matag adlaw na panginahanglanon.”
(We are very grateful to DOLE, especially to our congressmen and Gov. Angging because we are really among the recipients of this TUPAD. It can add to the cost of our daily needs.) PIO-LDN
