Tubod, Lanao del Norte – As part of the initiative of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo, with the help of the two active Congressmen, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo of the 1st District and Congressman Abdullah D. Dimaporo of the 2nd District, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte recently distributed assistive devices such as wheelchairs and leg prosthetics to over 40 persons with disabilities last January 13, 2022.
 
Governor Dimaporo personally led the distribution of 29 wheelchairs and 11 prosthetic legs to all present PWDs held at the Provincial Capitol Lobby, Pigcarangan. It is a yearly activity of the Provincial Government led by Governor Dimaporo to provide assistance and a positive outlook to the PWDs of this province amidst the lingering effects of the pandemic.
 
“I’m hoping that these restorative devices make you happy and help you with your daily tasks.” Governor Dimaporo said.
 
As her birthday threat, Governor Dimaporo also gave the beneficiaries food packs, cash gifts, including toys for those children beneficiaries. Aside from singing a ‘Happy Birthday, some beneficiaries also offered Governor Dimaporo a song that she genuinely enjoyed, which made her also sing one of their favorite song of Congressman Dimaporo.
 
One of the recipients, Mr. Dario Gabonada of Lanipao, expressed his heartfelt thanks to Governor Dimaporo and said, ” We are very happy for what we have received today. It just proves that you never forget us, the PWD sector. Hoping that this practice will continue to serve many more people with impairments and difficulties like me.”
 
Together with the two active Congressmen, Governor Dimaporo assured the PWDs of their constant support to uphold their lives and value their existence. She also commended the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office spearheaded by Ms. Annabelle Mendez and Mr. Diode Alota, the PWD Federated President, for their continued efforts and initiatives in acquiring those customized wheelchairs and prosthetic legs from TAHANANG WALANG HAGDANAN in Manila. It is a rehabilitation and skills training center founded to provide skills training and special education to persons with disabilities.
