TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through the Provincial Tourism Office (PTO), visited Tourist Attraction Sites (TAS) and Tourism Related Establishments (TRES) in the province to give relief aid to the tourism workers affected by the closure of their businesses and livelihood due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taken under the 5% Disaster Risk Reduction (DRRM) Fund, these beneficiaries working in TAS with a Certificate of Authority to Operate issued by the IMT and Department of Tourism (DOT) accredited TRES received 25kgs of rice and Php1,000 each.
“Most of these business operators and workers rely on their tourism-related livelihood to support their families. However, because of the pandemic, they were ordered to close their establishments for a long time,” Alerma Y Montañez, Provincial Tourism Officer, said.
The distribution of relief assistance started on November 8, 2021. The beneficiaries were thankful to the Provincial Government and Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo and said, “Dako na kaayo ni nga tabang sa amoang pamilya kay dugay-dugay gyud mi wala ka operate tungod sa health protocols.”
(This is a huge help to our families because we haven’t operated in a long time due to the imposed health protocols.) PIO-LDN
