Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo personally joined the 4th Quarter 2021 Regional Development Council –X Special Balik Probinsya,agong Pag-asa (BP2 ) Committee Meeting recently held through a virtual platform on November 25, 2021. On behalf of Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin M. Andanar, the Chairperson of Regional Development Council Region X- Special BP 2, and the Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, the meeting was presided by Usec. Marvin R. Gatpayat, the Undersecretary for Legal Affairs of the Presidential Communications Operations Office. Together with Dir.Mylah Faye Aurora Cariño, the Vice-Chairperson of RDC-X Special BP 2 and the Regional Director of NEDA –X, Usec. Gatpayat thanks all the council members for the constant coordination and support.
The meeting agenda involves the updates and development of the BP2 Pilot Project (Housing Project) in Brgy. Tacub, Kauswagan,Lanao del Norte. With Ms. Abbigail Javier of LDN Provincial Planning and Development Office, Governor Dimaporo presented various concerns raised during the BP2 Special Consultation meeting with the concerned NLAs and host municipality on September 23, 2021. The Provincial Chief Executive humbly cited her recommendations to the National Housing Authority (NHA) -Region X concerning the dispatch schedule of beneficiaries.
“Since there are some houses that were already completed, if possible, the beneficiaries will be able to move to their respective homes so that they can get used to the new environment where they will live, start their training and have a new shelter this coming holiday seasons,” Governor Dimaporo appealed.
“We can immediately have those houses occupied. We will try to coordinate also with the LGU regarding the dispatch schedule”, Engr. Rolando Teves Jr., the Regional Manager of NHA-X, answered.
NHA’s project at the Municipality of Kauswagan, named the Bagong Pag-asa Organic Village, has a total of 87 planned units in which there are 58 fully completed units and 29 ongoing units as of November 19, 2021.
Under Executive Order (EO) No. 114, series of 2020, the BP2 program is an initiative of the national government which encourages the public and those informal settlers to return to their home provinces to address the congestion in Metro Manila areas. In return, they will be given additional support and incentives on transportation, livelihood, family needs, subsistence, education, housing, and others throughout the transition. PIO-LDN
