Tubod, Lanao del Norte – Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo leads the Provincial School Board Meeting held at the Governor’s Conference Room on November 18, 2021.
The meeting includes the discussion on the Joint Circular No.2, s. 2020 (DepEd-DBM-DILG) regarding the Revised guidelines on the Use of the Special Education Fund (SEF).
As Governor Dimaporo formally opens the conference, she deliberately asks the support of Schools Division Superintendent Edilberto Oplenaria to ensure that the teachers, especially in those pilot schools conducting face-to-face classes, are fully vaccinated. Aside from the essential medical tools and various health protocols, Governor Dimaporo recognizes the importance of having all personnel fully immunized, teaching or non-teaching, for their protection, especially since children are more vulnerable to the virus.
“If they are not vaccinated, we need to ask them for a medical certificate from their physicians to consider their health condition,” Governor Dimaporo said.
The updates on the accomplishments and several strategical utilization of 2021 Programs and Activities were also presented. As of November 15, 2021, it was mentioned that the utilization rate among the eight main programs proposed for 2021 is 54.72%. The unutilized funds mainly for COVID 19 reagent and Palarong Pambansa were allocated to other programs.
The meeting also paved the way to yield to the school board the various achievements that the DepEd – Division of Lanao del Norte had attained this year.
Ms. Eva Edon of DepEd reiterated that with the support of the Provincial Government and Governor Dimaporo, the Division was able to harvest good results both from national and regional competitions.
SDS Oplenaria also emphasized that compared to the past years, the DepEd Division of Lanao del Norte is more concentrated on academics and curricular awards this year, which proves the improvement of quality of education in the province.
“We are also maintaining our competence in sports which makes us one of the national contenders for the upcoming Palarong Pambansa virtual competition,” SDS Oplenaria added.
Governor Dimaporo was delighted to hear all the achievements of the Division. She assured to constantly support them, especially in developing the education system of Lanao del Norte in the new norm. PIO-LDN
