TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – The Provincial Health Office Environmental Health Cluster declared the village of Bulod in Tubod town this province as ZOD Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) on Thursday, November 18, 2021
With the Local Government and the Rural Health Unit of Tubod, the award was given to Jean J Tibon, Barangay Charman of Bulod.

The Department of Health (DOH), through the National Sustainable Sanitation Plan (NSSP), has set an ambitious target that by 2022, the barangays who are still practicing open defecation shall be declared ZOD to improve sustainable health and sanitation to prevent diseases that may affect the community because of poor health and sanitation initiatives.

With the help of the Rural Health Unit, Local Government Unit, PHO, officials, and all the people of Bulod have now access to sanitary toilets, where they do not have to defecate in the open, in fields, and waterways where children will become more likely experience frequent bouts of diarrhea, have worm infections and grow up stunted and undernourished.

Present during the program were Engr. George Dimavivas, the Provincial Sanitary Engineer, Jonathan Sumala, the Municipal Sanitary Inspector, Nelly Pepito, Sangguniang Bayan Member-Committee on Health, and Bulod Barangay Officials.
