Through the initiative of the Office of 2nd Congressional District under Congressman Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo, tourism planners from the Department of Tourism (DOT) X and Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority’s (TIEZA) conducted a series of site inspections to the various tourism destinations in the province.
This activity is for the purpose of creating plans to improve and provide an impetus for the revival of the Tourism Industry once the health and safety sanctions are lifted.
Five (5) members of the TIEZA technical team and three (3) DOT technical staff composed the Inspection Team. Some of the sites they visited were the Mighty Cave in Tagoloan and other places in the municipality, Mount Inyawan, Kapatagan Valley, Pikalawag Beach, and other beaches in SND, Mt. Torong2x, Mountains with good views of the Moror Gulf in Kapatagan, and some other places.
With the current pandemic situation, Tourism in the province was seemingly put to a halt because of the lockdowns and transportation bans imposed to prevent the spread of the COVID-19. Thus, Cong. Abdullah wanted to see to it that the time spent in lockdown will be utilized to generate plans to boost the tourism in Lanao del Norte.
“The Land of Beauty and Bounty truly lives up to its name for its rich resources and breathtaking nature. This potential, together with the expertise of the DOT and TIEZA in planning and marketing, would ensure that the Tourism Industry in Lanao del Norte will be able to bounce back and move forward,” Cong. Abdullah sad.
