October 12, 2021 – Through the Provincial Resource Management Center, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte conducted a Focus Group Discussion regarding the Area Situation Analysis on the Formulation of Metro Iligan Regional Agro-Industrial Center (MIRAIC) Industrial Locator Map held at the Provincial Multipurpose Hall, Capitol Premises, Pigcarangan Tubod.
 
Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Hon. Allan Lim was also present during the activity to express his support for the development of MIRAIC and as well as to give his encouragement to all who partake in the discussion for the boosting and of the agro-industry of Lanao del Norte.
 
In partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), LGU Linamon, and PALAFOX Associates, they were able to identify the development strategy for the 77 hectare Industrial Park in MIRAIC.
 
The Industrial Locator Map will cover development guidelines and concerns based on the pillars of sustainability: industrial, agricultural, environmental, economic, infrastructure, social, and institutional. The Industrial Locator map plays a vital role in the environmental management of the urban landscape and guides the development of the Province of Lanao del Norte.
 
This activity will significantly help the participants identify existing resources in the province, the current issues and concerns regarding these, and the possible intervention that can address these issues to fulfill the plans for MIRAIC. The activity was divided into three workshops: Resource Mapping, SWOT Analysis, and Development Direction (Revisiting the Province of Lanao del Norte’s Vision).
 
Along with Lanao del Norte’s vision to become ‘A sustainably developed agri-fishery and eco-cultural sports tourism destination in a community of God-loving, resilient, and socially cohesive people with local governance anchored on inclusive growth,’ this project will not just help boost the provinces’ Agro-Industry and tourism, it will also help the give livelihood for the constituents.
