Experiencing the adverse effects of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), especially in the tourism industry, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through the Provincial Tourism Office, steps up programs and interventions to provide immediate assistance to the affected tourism workers in the province by the distribution of hygienic kits.
In line with the celebration of World Tourism Day, the Provincial Governor’s Office – Tourism Operations Division distributed a total of 383 hygienic kits to the Tourism workers working in tourism sites with Certificate of Authority to operate and are not LGU employed, in preparation for their resumption of operations.
It is also one way of supporting wide-scope interventions that seek to raise awareness on how they can protect themselves and prevent the spread of COVID-19, especially when they are assisting their clients and guests.
The distribution of these hygiene kits was through the initiative of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo. The Gov. IQD hygiene kit contains one (1) box Ascorbic Acid 500mg tablet, one (1) box disposable Surgical Facemask, two (2) pcs. Face Shield, one (1) bottle 70% Ethyl Alcohol 250ml Spray, one (1) bottle Antibacterial Liquid Handwash 250ml pump, and one (1) pc. Continuous Spray bottle.
“The closure of our tourism destinations was indeed a tough but necessary decision to make in order to mitigate the spread of the virus. For now, let us take the halt in tourism as an opportunity to improve our tourism sites in the province for the preparation of the resumption of operations,” Governor Angging said.
Through the leadership of Governor Angging and the active involvement of the Provincial Tourism Office headed by Alerma Grace Y. Montañez, the PGLDN is always thinking of other ways to support the tourism site operators and workers in the Province of Lanao del Norte, ‘The Land of Beauty and Bounty’. PIO-LDN
