Through the initiative of Governor Imelda Quibranza Dimaporo and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), together with the Paglingkawas Women Federation (PAWFED), the turn-over and distribution of Livelihood Projects to the beneficiaries from various Municipalities has finally been push through last October 6,2021. Following the safety health protocols, the activity was conducted at the Pasalubong Center, Sagadan, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
The program was personally attended by Governor Angging along with Ms. Sittie Aminah Q. Dimaporo, the Provincial Administrator of PGLDN. On behalf of the Provincial Head of LDN-DOLE, Ms. Cristie Perfecto, the Focal Person for the Livelihood/TUPAD program, Mr. Abdul Manan was also present to witness the said event.
There are about 38 qualified beneficiaries who have been given livelihood assistance amounting to Php 20,000 each. The fund for this project was merely under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program allocated for the Provincial Government through Governor Angging.
In her message, Governor Angging extends her heartfelt gratitude to the DOLE for the constant support provided to the province of Lanao del Norte. She also expresses her genuine appreciation to the PAWFED, through its Director, Ms. Blenda Desierto, for being a trusted and reliable accredited co-partner and to the PGLDN-PESO led by Ms. Evelyn Lopez for all the efforts in the fulfillment of several programs that assist every individual, organization, and cooperatives in the province.
“Having this program will greatly help restore your livelihood that has been affected by the pandemic. May you use it correctly for it to grow and further develop to help you uplift your situation together with your families in this new norm.”, Governor Angging said.
The activity aims to assist those small entrepreneurs who have also been severely affected by the crisis. Each beneficiary goes through an assessment to thoroughly assess their needs. This is one of the steps that Governor Angging is trying to take, in line with the execution of various recovery and rehabilitation programs in the province.
There are different types of livelihood assistance provided for the beneficiaries, and there are for a Sari-Sari Store. Ms. Sittie Aminah deliberately shared the importance of Micro and Small Businesses not just for the owners but for the community.
“The success and development of your small businesses will bring impact to the entire province, so we must work hand in hand in our undertakings,” Ms. Sittie Aminah added.
On behalf of the beneficiaries emotionally thanked PGLDN through Governor Angging and DOLE for the aid they received. She assures that they would use it properly for it to grow and expand. During the activity, Governor Angging also encourages everyone to support the global vaccination program of the government. As the mother of the province, the active Governor took the chance to remind the public not to directly believe the news spread on social media, most notably regarding the COVID 19 vaccines.
Furthermore, Governor Angging appeals for the constant understanding and continuous cooperation in the enforcement of ordinances to mitigate the COVID 19 cases in the province. PIO-LDN
